Email Signatures are great; Get the most out of them!
- Use them. You’ll look and be more professional.
- Create various versions. Handy if you deal with many different contacts.
- Branding Opportunity. Include your logo.
- Networking Opportunity. Include your photo! People do business with people not with businesses.
- Add a link to your Facebook Fan Page. If you don’t have a Facebook Fan Page – Get one.
- Add a Link to your website. Hello? You’re on the Internet right?
- Include Phone Numbers. It doesn’t hurt to include all you phone numbers here. Haven’t you ever printed out an email and use it to find phone numbers? Make it easy to find.
- Include links and logos / badges to others
- Keep yours the largest. Try to group the others in a row with small icons for the links.
- Exception: Announce any bridal shows you will be at prominently. This is seasonal and requires you to change your signature more than two or three times a year. It doesn’t take long and it’s FREE so you should take advantage of that.
- Don’t create backgrounds. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened an email with a big ole ugly background that covers the content. Again, make it easy to read.
- Spell Check! oooh bad idea if there is a misspelling in your signature.
